The Storm
"Mohinder! Mohinder! It's too much!" the little girl protested from her bedroom after one of her adoptive fathers (paper work having gone through thanks to Matt's singular talent) nearly tackled her to rub sunscreen into her fair skin. "I can't breathe! It's in my nose!"
Mohinder more or less ignored her cries, rubbing more of the white cream into the areas behind her ears. "You'll thank me when you're not a lobster tomorrow."
"But we're wasting time! Matt's already pulled up the car and packed it!" She might be young, but that didn't mean she wasn't already imagining herself like the girls on the Disney Channel with tanned skin and sun-bleached hair. It'd started with lipstick and red nail polish and a two piece bathing suit he'd given into only because he's force her to wear a little jacket when not in the water. And a hat.
"He'll wait for us," Mohinder said as he clucked his tongue, dressed in white shorts and an orange collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up, though left open with his chest bare beneath. He had on a pair of sandals too, certainly looking ready for the beach. If only Molly would cooperate!
"And if he doesn't?"
"We'll think of a proper punishment. All right, there you are, bring a change of shoes in case the car gets too cold on the drive."

He shifted, leant back a little to let Mohinder move and in the same movement broke the kiss momentarily only to move forward and suck Mohinder's bottom lip into his own mouth. He lifted one hand from the bar to run along the younger man's side, fleetingly at first until he grasped him firmly by the hip.
He was still leaning on his other arm, knuckles whitening from the way he was quite literally holding on.

Were they doing this right here, right now? Yes, it seemed. Mohinder was undeterred. Though the clothing surrounding Matt was a little bit on the smelly side, considering he'd been wearing it for a very long time without much access to the laundry, the skin it covered was perfect. Mohinder didn't really have many expectations in this area. Men were men, and size and shape aside, they all worked the same way. He'd get to know Matt's quirks little by little but this was a good start...especially for a man that wasn't use to bedding another man and for someone who was married and, therefore, likely hadn't gotten one of these in a few years.
Mohinder wouldn't say he was an expert at oral sex, but he hardly had to be when he was so enthusiastic about it. Just hang on, Matt. Relax. Mohinder was in a very giving mood.
no subject
Matt hissed it and let out a shuddering breath, realizing that he'd been holding it in to keep from gasping as Mohinder grasped him. That didn't help much when moments after he felt the first touch and warmth and wetness of his mouth and he dropped his head again with a low moan, forehead against the cool glass, his own mouth open as his breathing grew shallow.
He closed his eyes. Focused on the sensation and the effort to keep relatively still. It was true that he hadn't been given a blowjob for ... a while now, but it was more than that. It was the fact it was Mohinder balancing on the balls of his feet for him and seeming like he was really happy to do it. It was in all honesty difficult for Matt to make any kind of sense of, but at the moment he didn't care.
"Jesus Christ, Mohinder", he muttered weakly, keeping his eyes closed because he knew that if he looked, he'd be absolutely done for.
no subject
Especially because Mohinder rather liked it. It had more to do with enjoyment of his partner than even the power guarded teeth and saliva could have on a man in particularly sensitive areas of his body. Matt's whimpered, guttural, sharp and simultaneously soft noises were the end all and be all of this particular act.
If only the sounds didn't have to end eventually!
Mohinder rocked back until his arse and shoulders hit the mirror. His eyes flickered up at Matt's bowed head before one hand slipped from the base of the shaft the flesh beneath. He squeezed somewhat more roughly than Matt might have been expecting and coaxed his orgasm with soft moaning vibrations in his throat.
Gag reflex?
What's that?

There was a moment's pause where his heart was slowing down. Then he opened his eyes and looked down at Mohinder and even though he no longer had him in his mouth it was possibly the hottest thing Matt had ever seen just by the knowledge of what had just happened.
"Oh, shit- come here", he said thickly and coaxed Mohinder up to his feet only to press him against the glass again the moment he was standing, to hold his face in his hands and kiss him as deeply and thoroughly as he could. Thanks, maybe. Appreciation. A desire to do something for him as well, although less immediate since he honestly still felt kind of breathless.
He kissed him, and he kissed him again, and then he kissed his jaw and went down to kiss and graze his throat, hands dropping to his sides.
no subject
The kiss, however, was unexpected. From what he'd gathered over his relatively few encounters with men, they weren't too found of the idea of kissing someone with the taste of themselves in their mouth. Matt seemed to be quite the opposite, however, and Mohinder was immediately drawn to the way Matt seemed to want him even more.
He whimpered against strong lips and, after those lips peeled down his skin, tilted back his head to accept whatever it was Matt was aiming to do.
Unfortunately, that's when the elevator lurched and Mohinder's eyes snapped open. His hands immediately went to Matt's crotch to tuck the older man away, his eyes sparkling and ruby red lips cracked in a smile. "You're welcome," he murmured, getting Matt's belt done two seconds before the doors opened and two older men sauntered into the lift. Mohinder greeted them as if nothing had happened, though his shoulders were shaking.
Nearly getting caught had agreed with him!

He kept his mouth shut and his hands to himself. It actually took him a moment to remember that he was a telepath. Whatever spell Mohinder had just put on him was evidently a pretty good one.
I can't believe you actually did that he projected and even his mental voice was shaky. But now when a little time had passed it'd sound more like disbelief mixed with a bit of laughter. I won't be able to look at an elevator the same way in my entire life.
He swallowed when one of the other men got off and when it was their turn to step out of the elevator Matt actally sighed with relief when he made to follow Mohinder.
no subject
Glancing over his shoulder, Mohinder arched one eyebrow under his flop of curls. "Is that another challenge?" he asked, a spring to his step. He didn't need to get off himself, Matt's orgasm had been perfect. Reducing a telepath to a thoughtless state had to be some sort of Olympic sport. Mohinder was feeling almost smug...in an affectionate sort of way. How to change common, every day items, one little lick at a time? Oh, like it had been one little lick! Mohinder was all too modest.
The doors to the cafeteria opened for them and a few very early morning stragglers or late night cowboys were at the various tables scattered around. Mohinder went right to the soft serve, but there was breakfast being served, something a little better than cereal should Matt want it. Molly preffered to eat back in their room and Mohinder stocked up what really wasn't a kitchenette in their room, just a table and a hot plate, for the girl to have a more normal existence.
Ice cream, however, required the cafeteria. Mohinder would likely get some coffee, but he'd not gotten much sleep and he wanted to be able to curl up with Matt should Molly give them a little time to.
She did take to colouring. And sometimes napped if she didn't feel like watching the DVDs Mohinder brought her to watch on her laptop. It was a bit boring for a kid here. Unfortunately. Mohinder wondered where that little girl at the beach that day was at. If she survived. If they were still in New York.
He paused at the machine and blinked at the empty bowl in his hand.
Know what? Ice cream sounds good right about now for a second course, he joked, a bit dirty, perhaps. He'd let Matt deal with that.
no subject
Maybe initially surprising, Matt mostly picked up quite a bit of fruit to eat. Fresh food was something he hadn't had for weeks and as much as he was fine with cereal he was really craving perishables moreso than any other kind of food at the moment. He probably lacked a fair few vitamins. So once seated he sliced an apple into several pieces and ate them one by one, after that going for an orange.
While, you know, watching Mohinder eat ice cream. He had an urge to kick him under the table just from the way he did. By purpose or not, it was far too erotic, and Matt couldn't quite decide if his mind was just permanently in the gutter right now or if Mohinder was teasing him.
Or both, really.
"So, uh-" He ducked his head but managed to ask fairly smoothly. "Are you needed anywhere today, or ...?"
no subject
Not impossible. Not yet. You've barely seen what it is I'm capable of. He pulled the spoon from his mouth and stuck it in the dish of ice cream without trying to be coy or flirty. He just couldn't exactly help it.
Palming his cheek, Mohinder gave his tasks some thought. "I assume they'll give me a bit of time off. I've been working nearly 'round the clock. There's not much to do here for leisure, however save for sleep. Most people are all right with that. It comes in drabbles."
no subject
Not much to do for leisure ... right. He leaned into a hand, subconsciously mirroring Mohinder's pose, and popped one of the orange slices into his mouth, listening and looking at the way Mohinder handled the spoon as he spoke with faint amusement.
Then he frowned slightly at the confirmation of lack of things to do and said simply, "Molly seems lonely."
It had worried him a bit since their talk where it had been apparent even without her strictly saying it that she missed her friends, both the ones from school and the one or two children she'd met at the CDC.
Back in parental mode for the time being, apparently.
"It just ... it makes me really sad, all the things she's been through." He added with a wry smile, "It's like the universe decided at some point that hey, remember these guys? Let's make sure they never catch a break. Ever."
He thought of Peter too, saying that.
no subject
It'd followed him to Egypt and India and Odessa and back again, clear across the globe. His little star. Standing up, Mohinder aimed to fetch more ice cream. They shouldn't leave her alone any further.
"I'm afraid we're a bit too old to be her playmates and she's already separated us into parents and protectors. We won't be here forever, Matt. But yes. She needs kids her own age. Two months ago, she'd actually been behaving like a child. She'll be twelve all too soon and... Yes. We could always leave here. Not to brag, but what they've paid me will set us up for life. We could move to England, to anywhere. Perhaps to California after all. She could be enrolled in school again."
no subject
It struck him that Mohinder would likely be kind of famous after the whole thing, too. The one with the cure. ... to say nothing of Matt himself and Peter, if their New York tape was widely recognised. Which he'd sort of gotten the impression of.
Oh well. Matt could make himself insignificant if he wanted. He was much more concerned for the other two.
He drank his coffee and picked up the last of his orange (a strange taste combination but not altogether unpleasant) and followed Mohinder, thinking.
"She needs to be enrolled in school again. For her own sake." In more ways than one. Learning was great and all, but that's also where you made friends. "But I don't think California's a good idea. We should be different from her parents."
Not to mention that while Matt really did love California, the state held a lot of history for him as well that he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to go back to. At least not yet.
no subject
It sounded somewhat remote. Mohinder knew little about it other than there was a lot of snow in the winter but it was warm enough to swim in the summer. It was summer now.
"His nephew must be about her age--" Mohinder had already latched onto the idea of going there anyhow. They really didn't need him for clinical trials or decimation. "I'll speak with Arthur today. But first... Ice cream and we'll try very hard to sell moving to a mansion with children her age and a pool. If we beg, she might agree."
no subject
"Simon? Yeah", he confirmed, having gathered enough from Peter to know. He scratched at the back of his neck as they moved out of the cafeteria space after having cleaned and thrown their things away. The room was still only sparsely occupied. "Let's give him a day or two before we actually consider that, though. It's his family. He's missed them as much as I missed you two."
Missed was, in all honesty, putting it mildly. But he said it with the easy bluntness that followed honesty.
no subject
"But you're right. And it would likely be polite to actually call Peter first and be sure we'd still be welcomed. Even if only for a little while." Mohinder could certainly foot the bill because-- Matt, the CDC does not kidnap people.
He might have a good chuckle about that later.
Instead, he led the way down to the elevator once more to return to their daughter and the book she was reading, still curled up in Mohinder's bed. Of course, once she saw the monumental amount of ice cream he'd brought her, that was all she wanted. Fine by him. He wanted to brush his teeth before he kissed her forehead any way. And Molly and Matt needed more time to catch up.
no subject
It was a conclusion on Matt's part. Mohinder had a team, evidently of several people, and that alone said something. Not to mention that Mohinder was incredibly important by virtue of being the cure itself.
And, as predicted, Matt couldn't get into the elevator with an entirely straight face. But there were no advances on either side and the serious topic was still in the air.
Once back at the sort-of-apartment he sat down with Molly, asking her if she wasn't tired, and she kind of shrugged. It figured that her sleeping schedule would be messed up along with Matt's and Mohinder's own. But at the same time since he'd gotten a sort of non-answer, he pressed gently, "No nightmares?"
It stalled her for a moment and she gave him a cautious look as she dug around in her ice cream. "Not really. Only normal ones."
He sighed and gave her a one-armed hug. What could you do, really?
He didn't say anything about the Petrellis yet, not sure if it'd be good timing, and instead had her talk about Pinehearst a bit. She thought it was a boring place. Matt said that that's because adults are boring, especially when they had to work, and Molly seemed to take this into consideration before he bestowed her partial agreement upon him.
"Adults don't have to be boring just because they work", he told him wisely. "They probably are just cause they're bored with it themselves."
Matt laughed and shot Mohinder a bright look as he re-entered the room.
no subject
"You're not boring all the time, Mohinder, just when you make me do math," she responded.
"And I make you do maths because that's what a girl your age ought to be doing after lunch." He joined the pair, trying to look glum about the whole of it. "I use to love maths."
"But I don't want to be a scientist!" Molly shot back and Mohinder glanced up at Matt. She caught him and wrinkled her nose. "Or a detective. I could cheat too easy."
Ouch. Dig.
"Maybe I could like...rescue people that get lost? Or... I don't know, be an archaeologist?" Two very different things. Mohinder had to laugh.
"An archeologist needs to learn maths."
"Aww, really?"
no subject
After a moment, Matt suggested, "Hey, what about art? You're always drawing."
She scraped the spoon around the bottom of the bowl, only a little ice cream left now, and was thinking about it. "I dunno. I don't think I want to be famous."
An interesting logical leap, completely unique to children. Matt wasn't entirely sure how she'd arrived to that one and he looked again to Mohinder, giving a small shrug.
She lit up suddenly. "I could work at a pet store!"
no subject
"Not everything requires math!" Molly said in exasperation and Mohinder burst out laughing and stretched out his legs.
"So artist it is then?" Getting hit with an elephant ear ended up being the second highlight of the morning. Third, after Molly's head dropped to Matt's lap and the girl fell asleep curled up between them, bowl filled with melted ice cream soup set side to wash up.
Mohinder laced his fingers with Matt's as they sat together, not really thinking about much of anything, though their movements were being recorded for later.
Arthur Petrelli ran a tight ship and every little duck had to keep itself in a row.
no subject
After several moments of just sitting together, he stood and pulled Mohinder with him out of the room to tug him towards himself and kiss him. Gentle, now. Slow and sweet. They had a girl asleep the next room over after all, and honestly, it had been too long since they'd just ... touched each other in this way.
Besides, Matt was a romantic at heart.
When he drew back, he dropped his eyes to the cut that was still visible on Mohinder's throat and very carefully brushed his thumb over the skin there.
"God, I missed you."
It deserved to be said again in the relative peace that had found itself in the room now.
no subject
The cut on his throat would scar, likely, the way the blade had drew across his skin, the way it was healing. It had bled for a long time and he'd yet to clean it properly. Probably too late now. He'd just taken some antibiotics and been done with it. Vanity suited Mohinder with his hair but little else and Matt's careful administrations made up for any other small moments of disbelief that he could be even remotely attractive to the object of his affection.
Mohinder had something to say too.
Something that eight months might actually have been just a little short to say but people say it all the time and after so much less.
"I love you," he whispered, emotion all in his eyes. Matt didn't need to say anything else, but the Indian needed him to know how he felt before anything else could possibly happen to them.
no subject
Matt didn't love easily, exactly. Molly had stolen his heart, but other than that he'd simply experienced too many things to not edge on the side of caution in almost everything he did. That included love. Couple that with a somewhat low self-esteem on Matt's end, and what Mohinder just told him was completely baffling, nearly impossible to grasp.
"You- what?"
If there was romance to be found in that disbelief, then it was absolutely a romantic response, but it probably came across as kind of discouraging more than anything else until Matt dropped his gaze and actually laughed softly. But it wasn't scorn. Really, it was kind of giddy.
No, he wasn't sure he could believe it. And he realized now that for some reason he'd worked to keep the word love out of his own head in relation to Mohinder. But another thing about Matt was that he loved loyally, and the amount of affection and trust he had for Mohinder - and had had, for a while now - it only really added up to one thing.
He hugged the other man around the neck, shook his head into his shoulder.
"Wow. You're crazy, you know that? I love you too."
no subject
Why was love such a problem for people? Molly gladly accepted it. The rest of the civilised world seemed so very afraid to open their hearts.
He hand nearly slipped from Matt's in an embarrassed sigh before he was pulled in again, almost too roughly. He'd been tense, however. Tense and nervous all at the same time, his neck hadn't really been prepared for that.
Matt, affectionate again, like a great cat. Like a lion. Mohinder's arms moved to his sides, around his waist. The unease and near-despair was given away to a laugh and he grinned against the curve of Matt's ear.
"Crazy-- Yes. I've been told that. Many times. Most often by you." And thank every god humanity had for that.
no subject
He clearly was, to put up with Matt the way he did, to actually like- no, scratch that, to love him? He was clearly out of his mind. But as much as Matt thought so, he wasn't about to question it. He gladly accepted that love and latched onto it the way he often did. It became another place to land.
He smiled into Mohinder's neck for a moment and then drew back to kiss him again, but there was more to it this time. Nowhere near as hurried as just an hour or two prior, but with that decisiveness again that Matt displayed when he wanted to settle something.
They loved each other. How weird was that?
